Inside Abéché, Chad’s second city, where Darfur is never far from hearts and minds

Less than 200 kilometres from Darfur, Abéché, the capital of Chad’s Ouaddaï province, has become one of the main havens in the Sudanese crisis. Refugees, aid workers, traders and soldiers cross paths in a city where ties with its neighbour are as old as the tensions that come with them.
